M. T. Anderson

M. T. Anderson is a nationally recognized and award-winning author of fiction for children and young adults. His first novel for young adults, Thirsty, was published by Candlewick Press in 1997. Anderson’s first major success came in 2002 with the publication of Feed, which won the Los Angeles Times Book Award for Young Adults and was a Boston Globe–Horn Book Honor Book and a finalist for that year’s National Book Award. The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing, Traitor to the Nation, Part I: The Pox Party, about an African American boy raised (and experimented on) by philosophers in the Revolutionary era, was published in 2006 and won the National Book Award. Its sequel was also a finalist for the National Book Award in 2008, as was Symphony for the City of the Dead in 2015. More recently his first graphic novel, Yvain: The Knight of the Lion, was published in March 2017, and his new YA novel is Landscape with Invisible Hand, a futuristic satire about capitalism and identity.
