Maria Garcia is a former political reporter and an arts journalist for The ARTery at WBUR. She started her career as an intern at KVIA-T ABC-7 in El Paso, Texas, which became her home for a decade. During that time, she was an anchor and public policy reporter, as well as an anchor for the “Xtra” program. She left in 2016 to pursue her masters in journalism from the Columbia School of Journalism. She earned her degree in May 2017 and began working for WBUR in  the summer of 2017.
