Martha Minow

Martha Minow is the Carter Professor of General Jurisprudence at Harvard University Law School, where she served as dean from 2008 to the spring of 2017. She has been part of the law school’s faculty since 1981. Throughout her career as an educator and researcher, she has become an expert on advocacy and human rights and has published widely; some of her recent titles include The First Global Prosecutor: Promise and Constraints ( 2015); and In Brown’s Wake: Legacies of America’s Constitutional Landmark (2010). Early in her career, she clerked for the legendary Justice Thurgood Marshall. She is the vice chair of the Legal Services Corporation, the bipartisan, government-sponsored organization that provides civil legal assistance to low-income Americans, and she is involved in a number of other advocacy organizations.
