Sánchez’s poem and essays have been published widely in a variety of journals and outlets. Her poems have been published in Boston Review, Hayden’s Ferry, and Poetry magazine, among others, while her nonfiction has been featured in Al Jazeera, the Guardian, and Salon. From 2012 to 2015 she wrote a love and sex column for Cosmopolitan for Latinas. She was the winner of the 2013 Discovery/Boston Review Prize, a recipient of the 2015 Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation, and was named the 2017–2019 Princeton Arts Fellow. Jet Fuel Review called I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter a “fantastic addition to Transcultural Latinx literature.”
