Tochi Onyebuchi

Tochi Onyebuchi is an Ivy League-educated lawyer who focuses on international and domestic human rights and organized crime. And he also happens to be a debut science-fiction author. Onyebuchi holds a BA in political science from Yale, an MFA in screenwriting from New York University (NYU), and a JD from Columbia. Onyebuchi is also a screenwriter and short-story writer. His work has been featured in Nowhere Magazine, Asimov’s Science Fiction, and the critically acclaimed anthology Panverse Three. In his debut young-adult novel Beasts Made of Night, the walled city of Kos is under the sway of mages who extract sin from people in the form of sin-beasts. Young Taj is a sin-eater who slays the sin-beasts. He gets a call to destroy a royal’s sin-beast and Taj gets taken into a dark underside of the city. The book was a 2017 BookExpo America Buzz Book Selection.
